What is the difference between "G index" and "H index" and which one has more scientific value?

"H index" does researchgate automatically calculates the H index of researchers from their publications or one must have an account with Google ?

I have seen the H index calculated or displayed for some researchers on researchgate but many don't show the H index. Does one needs to have an account with Google before he gets his calculations?

h index corresponds to a scientist's h of his/her N papers that have been cited at least h times each, while the rest of the N papers have less than h citations each. but The g-index is an index for quantifying scientific productivity based on publications and calculated based on the distribution of citations received by a given researcher's publications
