Hello, ESI means electrospray ionisation so ESI is ionisation source so ESI-MS/MS means LC/MS/MS with ESI electrospray ionization source.
LS-MS/MS means liquid cromatograph with triple quad masspectrometer. So if you se LC/MS/MS it system without mention of ionization source.
LC/MS/MS ionisation source can be.
1. EI electron ionization
2. APCI atmospheric preasure chemical ionization
3. ESI electrospray ionization
