Power is a very strong word, with loads of different meanings and uses.
I am really not interested in such matters. Both dominate: I mean countries can dominate others either politically or economically.
The difference between economic power and political power, in short, is like the difference between good and evil, between light and darkness.

Political power in democratic countries is due to the consent of the people and therefore is not perpetual. While economic power is due to your ability to produce wealth and can also be perpetual. Political power must be used for the benefit of the whole society in an ethical way. Economic power can be used for personal gain, even if ethically.
Economical Power can influence Political Power and also Political Power may influence Economical Power. To be wealthy enables one to exercise power.

Actually it could be reasoned that economic power is very important like political power. This is because the two of them are very good in influencing behaviours in human society. However, Karl Marx and his lieutenants have argued that economic activities determine superstructure in human society. That is a fact that has been proved or validated in several studies but this is far from reality in Nigeria. In contemporary Nigeria, political power determines economic, religion, cultural and social affairs. Therefore, many Nigerians are wealthy and they are being accorded respects in their various religion groups, business circles, cultural and social settings not because of integrity, innovation and creativity but because such persons had access to political power which they used to embezzled public fund to the detriment of the poor masses. There are many touts at the corridors of power who dictate the pace of things in all spheres of life.

Well, my senior brother, Kelson, could be right in his perspective concerning power, probably in the context of his own country. However, it could be a good idea if he could investigate if the same scenario persist in other nations of the world, most especially, in underdeveloped nations of Sub-Saharan Africa.
Hence, the view of elder Anneenberg that the greatest power is not power but political power seems to be better. This is because it reflects the social life reality of power in Nigeria in the past and in the contemporary times. political power is needed to capture any other power in Nigeria. In many political arenas or settings or gatherings, a tout who knows his way has power to every other areas of life in the country

Political power is a lot more complex than just the definition of the concept. The concept of political power must first be divided between power and political. If the concept is seen as one the whole meaning might not be as strong as it is supposed to be.
Economic power is being in a state where there is sufficient productive resources at grasp, that will enable the person/s in charge to enforce economic decisions such as the allocation of resources, goods and services.

Power is a social phenomenon. Social power is present (albeit in a latent form) wherever there are stable associations of people: in the family, in production collectives, in the state, i.e. where there are real opportunities and the ability to influence people's behavior through any means. The dynamics of the development of any organized community of people represents a struggle between power and chaos.
State power is a special kind of social power. If in a primitive society social power has a public (social) character, then in a class-organized society it is political. In the state we are dealing with political power. In analyzing the political systems of a society, power occupies the same place as money in economic systems: it has strong roots in the public and private life of citizens.
Economic power in the narrow sense of the word is understood as the power of economic entities in the sphere of economy.

Economical power is the most important factors which can affect strongly the politic power because it was well known that there is no independence for any country without strong economic power .
Economic & political remain working on the same principle so to say they are twins & both are dealing with the people everywhere in the world . Both have scare means for the alternate uses ,if they work & if their action are both in the twins line with the utilization of resources both can carry out the maximum good for the maximum happiness.
With this if with this the aim of both are the same for the common good for the people but their action do not correlate with each other as politician consider their action under the selfish motive as their interested & anxious for reaching the aim of entering politics for getting the power & generally for utilizing the same as social standing .
In case of economic they have the a specialization in various areas of economic & anxious to offer the knowledge for the benefit for the society .
It is in this line we have to view & respect the twins entries however politics very often get abused from the society & that is why it has been remarked as Power corrupt Power Absolute Power corrupt Absolutely .
