Presently I am establishing DRIS norms for apples. I want to carry out compositional nutrient diagnosis as well. Can anyone help me on how I should proceed for the same? Moreover, is the data requirement the same in both the cases?
In both the cases (DRIS as well as CND) we go for leaf analysis (like apple, pear etc.) for nutrients like N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, micro-nutrients. But I think the difference lies in the statistical analysis. If any body has knowledge regarding the analysis part he may please put his views accordingly.
Moreover, kindly communicate whether somebody has worked on either of the above approaches.
DRIS norms are usually computed using functions or equations. They show the relative balance of a nutrient. Deficiency or sufficiency is indicated by magnitude of positive or negative value obtained. This approach is better than using absolute levels of nutrient (critical value) in a plant part.
