Please tell me the difference between SSI (Shear strain Increment) and SSR (shear strain rate). I could not able to find the clear definition of the above terms in FLAC manual.
Does SS and SSI are one and the same, if not how SSI defined?
And also please explain the meaning of SSR?

Shear strain increment (SSI) is the strain controlled analysis in which if you know the strain then apply strain in terms of increments (number of load steps) ..exa. (80 % strain, no. of steps 100 , in each steps an incremental strain of 0.8 will be applied in the analysis) . In the second case shear strain rate (SSR), the total strain will be applied in terms of specific rate at which the strain need to be applied in the analysis. Ex. 0.25 mm/minute. I recommend you to read research papers published based SSI and SSR concept in FLAC. all the best in your research..
