Fructose malabsorption, in comparison with lactose intolerance, is a widely uncosidered problem, associated with severe symptoms like depression, apart from general irritable bowel syndrom. Recommended treatment is mostly resricted to fructose-free or low-fructose diet. Is there current research on other forms of treatment? Are advertised products like xylose-isomerase ("Fructosin") viable in these cases?
