Currently, I'm doing physicochemical studies of ionic liquids (ILs) and MDEA aqueous mixtures. I have density, viscosity, and surface tension data for the ternary mixtures. Do you have any idea or suggestion on how to relate the ternary mixtures (IL-MDEA-water) and an each pure compounds (ILs, MDEA and water) using a model or by setting up an empirical equations.
A very good work on modeling the surface tension of ternary solvent mixtures is that of Wang et al.: http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ie101915n

Their model predicts the surface tension of ternary solvent mixtures with the use of parameters determined from data of binary solvent mixtures.
Simple yet effective method for representation of the density (but also dielectric constants, surface tensions and absolute viscosities) is Jouban-Acree model. It allows calculation of physical properties of mixtures at various temperatures using pure substance properties and parameters regressed from experimental data.
