Note however that someone who is disdainful or disrespectful of just a particular religion is not necessarily irreligious. They might be disdainful or disrespectful because of a belief that their own religion is the only "true" religion. The Muslims who set St. Mena Coptic Church in Cairo on fire, for example, were disdainful, contemptuous, and scornful of the Coptic religion but presumably not of all religion, so they wouldn't be guilty of irreligion. Similarly for the Muslims who destroyed the Buddhist statues of the Bamiyan Valley in Afghanistan.
Abdullah, I suspect this is simply another-yet, yet another-conversion question to push the wonders of religion, especially your own. I hope not because they are tiresome. Those that do this are rarely honest about the faults within their own ideological religious stance and equally appear to know absolutely nothing about other religions. If you have genuinely something to say rather than attempting to place religion in a special position it does as a whole not warrant then my apologies. If you are simply doing that then I can suggest a number of books that might, just might, broaden your mind.
Within reason, and with much lassitude, this is a scientific site and not one for proselytising, which some members seem increasingly to do. If you want to make valid academic and scholarly points about religion, then fine, and again I offer my apologies if you do. If not, there are scores of internet sites available where propaganda is welcomed.
