Six Thinking Hats approach was invented by Edward De Bono early in 1980. The six thinking hats are patterns of thinking, the tendencies of thinking rather than labels for reflection. These hats are used proactively rather than reactively. This approach aims to promote parallel thinking, full spectrum thinking and self-separation from performance. That the six thinking hats enhance performance rather than act as self-defense (Taie & El kamel, 2013: 188)
