Strategic intelligence includes any valuable information or knowledge that is helpful to make strategic decisions. If we know about emerging developments or trends in the external environment, we can adapt our strategy in order to take advantage of opportunities and/or to reduce threats. We may be able reinforce our strengths or overcome some weaknesses.
For example, if we learn about a new technology that is applicable to what we produce, then we may decide to purchase or license that technology in order to improve our products. If we discover that a huge corporation plans to enter one of our existing markets, then we may adapt our strategy in order to compete successfully. There are many other types of environmental adaptations that we may make depending on the nature of the strategic intelligence.
Strategic Intelligence can be any core information(s) or understandings such as technologies, expertise, formula, etc those can give an absolute advantages to a business firm within industry. To adapt in business environment the manager should scan the external environment carefully .If Manager knows that market will be easy to adapt for his firm, then he can apply it's strategic intelligence to capture market share or customer value in return.
