formulate your feed according to kcal basis by using local available raw materials inconsideration of digestibility nutrient, availability, compatibility with break point level.
The approach advocated by mr Zulfekar Ali will most likely result in the most efficient way of production.
I doubt however, that it will also be - always and everywhere - the cheapest way. Direct costs of this approach are relatively easy to calculate, but the indirect costs regarding e.g. welfare and sustainability are much harder to calculate and might in the long run be prohibitive for this way of feeding chickens.
Hi Eman, the best way to feed chicken at low cost is to formulate you own diet using less expensive ingredients that will adequately substitute the more cost ones, however, you most consider the nutrient requirements of the animals, nutrient digestibility as well as its acceptability/palatability of the diet.
I agree with Mustapha Yusif but to have a balance nutrient ratios from self-created formulation is always a little tough and needs a lot of expertise. But if the trick is caught, I recommend your idea of using locally available food sources to produce a cheaper formulation.
