Based on my experience, if they're academic instructors, I would inform them that it's important to develop their career portfolio and credibility in their discipline for the purpose of gaining the trust and respect of undergraduates who are learning from them in their major. Also, I think it's important to add into the theory based on your new discovery instead of repeating what the PowerPoint slides said from the textbook.
