What is the best way to report specific capacity of a coin cell- C rate or constant current density? How to know the C rate of any unknown sample?

Usually we don't get the same amount of discharge capacity as the theoretical capacity of any material. Is it right to charge-discharge it in a particular C rate by considering the theoretical capacity.
