I am using CdSe quantum dot to dope the graphene. I want to remove all the toluene solution after I dropcast the quantum dot solution so the sample seems clean as before adding the slolution. Also the method shlould not affect the quantum dots.
Dry it under flowing inert gas. Ensure that the flow rate is not too high. You could also dry it by heating under an inert atmosphere with care. Temperature can cause complications depending on the sample.
I think by keeping in Desiccator and evacuate with simple rotary pump will be best to remove toluene without affecting the quantum dots.
Just keeping your sample in a desiccator with an adsorbent would also do the job. Toluene would be adsorbed by the adsorbent.
you can add IPA solvent to QDs dispersed in toluene then use the centrifuge to remove the solvent and dry with nitrogen
Usually it is done by putting your sample under vacuum for overnight inside the glovebox. a rotary pump would work, no need for a very high vacuum system. but, make sure it is done under glove box and it is sealed very well so that no pollution from glovebox can sit on your film. the hardest part is to conncet vacuum to the glovebox. most of the glovebox have a hosing for that.
Degas the solution under vacuum. Do it slowly otherwise the organic solution will boil.
