Say I have total Ag or Au (from ICP-OES ) in biological materials (cells or tissues) treated with different concentrations and exposure times of nanoparticles.
From what I understand, researchers report as such (ppb or ppm) or normalize the ICP results to the total tissue weight or cell protein.
But is there any other better way to normalize ?

Thank your for the reply! I was thinking along those lines--like measuring total protein of the untreated sample (i.e., with No nano) at each exposure time and normalize all results. But then I was debating if this will ignore the fact that each concentration of nanoparticles might affect the total protein content, in which case it will be complicated!
Do you have any suggestions on that?
