I am looking for either a lab to do the testing or a relatively simple-to-use kit to do it myself. Can it be done on whole body tissues? What quantity of tissue is required? How expensive is this kind of testing?
EPSPS is the key of resistance to glyphosate and its effect can be assessed by a number of molecular biology or shikimate assays as in http://www.ars.usda.gov/SP2UserFiles/Place/30100000/2005Documents/2005/426%202005%20Koger%20Weed%20Sci.pdf and later refs. In order to dedect the herbicide residues you may need MS coupled to liquid chromaptography in environmental water and food quality skilled labs
I hear someone at UC Berkeley can do glyphosate testing via Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry which has a lower detection limit and may be used on tissues (?). Must be someone who offers it.
recently we used ELISA to detect glyphosate. This is only free glyphosate. In Proteins we can`t detect it. We also need AMPA detection. This is possible by GC MS. .
