Hi Dear Veena,

EtB is a carcinogen substance. So, you have to work wit caution in separate room and wash with water. even after capturing from the gel the imaging system's stage must be cleaned with water.it is a free of charge method.:)

We use to soak the gels which were stained with EtBr in potassium permanganate solution overnight before disposing them off..
