I'm using gold working electrode to perform stripping voltammetry (in electrolyte containing 1M HCl).  Between multiple runs of the experiment, in order to clean the electrode, I presently perform CV in 0.5M H2SO4 solution for 10 cycles.  However, I feel this method is not efficient enough as the results I am getting of late are not satisfactory.  Is there any other efficient cleaning/maintenance method for gold electrodes that can be performed on a regular basis in lab?

Thanks in advance
