Every day we read a lot of articles in different fields. Sometimes we have some questions about them a lot of which can be answered by ourselves. But there are some obscurities or questions only corresponding authors can answer. Although a lot of them have admirable responsibility a few of them don't answer you at all. What do you think is the best treatment with them? Do you think sending an Email and report to the journal is a good way? or you suggest other solutions?

The corresponding author is the person who is fully responsible for the paper, supervised the work reported in the submission, and is the primary contact for communication during consideration and after publication. The roles and responsibilities of corresponding author include ensuring authorship is granted appropriately to contributors, ensuring all authors approve the content and submission of the paper, ensuring adherence to all editorial and submission policies, Identifying and declaring conflicts of interest on behalf of all authors, identifying and disclosing related work by any co-authors under consideration elsewhere, archiving unprocessed data and ensuring that figures accurately represent the original data, acting as the primary contact for all communication during consideration and after publication, and acting as the arbiter of decisions and disputes.

"Medical journals should provide readers with a mechanism for submitting comments, questions, or criticisms about published articles, usually but not necessarily always through a correspondence section or online forum. The authors of articles discussed in correspondence or an online forum have a responsibility to respond to substantial criticisms of their work using those same mechanisms and should be asked by editors to respond. Hi Ali,
I think that the best way to get an author's response is to approach him through the journal's editor. If there are several questions about the paper, than the editor could decide to open an editorial discussion on the subject.
