I was on the Commander Islands, studied biology inland waters. Everywhere shows the influence of the ocean! How independent ecosystem of the islands? The impression is that their productivity is determined by the communities of ocean (anadromous fishes, sea water flow with the tides, etc). Continuous wind contributing to the maintenance of dynamic balance within the ecosystem (mixing of water masses, preventing the development of the processes of decomposition of organic matter and oxygen disappearance).
