I think that it depends, low vacuum mode is not that good for high magnifications (in general, not only for biological), and some table top SEM operates only with low vaccum mode, which means you're a bit limitated. You should also check if the table top SEM comes only with backscatter detector, or only SE detector or both.

It's a FEG desktop SEM (since you need nanometer scale), I think you should also check about the detectors available in the SEM, check about the chamber size and etc.
