Currently, I am working on few widely distributed taxa in Indian landmass and trying to build phylogeny. I would like to know, whether my phylogenetic result will be biased if I collect samples (2-3 nos) in every 1000kms interval? Do I need to perform sampling closer to each other? What if individuals from each location (population) will cluster in a single clade with significant genetic distance (from clade to clade)? What if every clade is supported by significant morphological/morphometric differences? What if another species forms clade within the clades of widely distributed species? Here I am talking about individuals of a species.
