Try using non -chlorinated solvents like Cyclohexane/Methanol or Cyclohexane/IPA.These solvents work nicely. The idea is to separate both polar and non polar lipids.
While Chloroform:MeOH would work best dissolving your lipid film, this may not be miscible with your HPLC solvents (when you use water). I use a solution of 90% IPA/10% Acetonitrile (vol/vol), typically containing 10mM ammonium formate. This is actually my buffer B for chromatography.
