I need to write a paper for an American Journal, and I would like to have a good software/solution for checking the correct grammar, punctuation, and aid to improve the vocabulary.
So, I would like to get some advices from practical experience using some software solution for this proposal.

I suggest that you consult a proofreader cause I tried one of those software and they proved a failure. Double check everything and do not trust the software if you want to use any.

It is a bit time consuming but once you finish , you will never need a software nor a human proofreader
As for me, I don't really trust these softwares; there will always be some mistakes that may not be detected and hence fixed by these softwares. I advise you to have your article checked and revised by a person who's very good at English conventions and mechanism.
Nonetheless, Grammarly is recommended by many. You can give it a go.

I would not recommend any particular software for a manuscript writing for a reputed journal. You may get help from professional proofreaders for the writing part. However, for the minor spell and grammar check, you may use this online tool http://www.reverso.net/spell-checker/english-spelling-grammar/. It is free to use unlike Grammarly which has severe limitations in free version.
You can use Grammarly software for the correction of your grammar. In addition, this is absolutely free.
