I am currently trying to hook up my oscilloscope to a biased thin-film diode to measure the mobility in a TOF setup.

However I am having a problem getting a good transient signal (for example for 'time of flight' experiments or dark-injection SCLC measurements).

what is the best practice to grab the voltage pulse? Is there a "best practice", e.g. splice the coax cable and grab the signal over a resistor?  My current setup is shown in the attached file.

If someone could provide a small schematic, hint or photo I would be very grateful!

Yours,

Chris
