PM 2.5 causes diseases of both the respiratory of humans. Therefore, it is necessary to implement effectively for countermeasures. What is the best practice strategy for reducing the PM2.5 level in the urban area?
In most urban areas traffic contributes mostly to PM2.5 levels. Best but simultaneously difficult to achieve is to lower the sources of PM. Reduction of emissions of cars by car makers has proven to be of little use. Different kinds of mitigating measures like green areas, are very limited in pollution control, and can hardly be widely applicated in urban areas. So, the most effective strategy means drastic reduction of car traffic, scaling up of public transport, and promoting environmentally friendly means of transport such as cycling. The electrification of cars can make some contribution in the long run, but it will never reduce traffic congestion, just another already existing and still growing problem of urban areas......
Various measures are used: Restricting traffic in urban areas; Gradual renewal of public sector vehicles in accordance with environmental standards; Control of fuels used for domestic heating; Increase in green areas, shrub and tree vegetation, etc.
The PM2. 5 concentration in urban areas can be reduced through the control of anthropogenic emissions such as those from traffic and industrial sources and domestic fuel consumption...

In urban areas normally transport and energy production (Depending on socio-economic and geographical conditions) are major PM2.5 contributors. We can reduce PM2.5 level by comprehensive source appointment and implementation of corresponding measurements. Please see:
