I'd like to carry on an accurate count of pixels in several images in order to compare them. There is a way by using Photoshop, but... does anyone know any other better method or software for that?
Without opening Photoshop, if you just take any image-file in Windows explorer, its' pixelnumber is part of the metadata. You just need to rightclick, than "property", than "detail" and you'll see the horizontal and vertical pixel-count , ex: 1920*1080.. Very easy. - just note that a pixel-amount is not always equivalent to image quality: Pixels can be nativly captured or they can be generated by algorithms (inside the camera, or later on)... wich results in very different image definition quality.
even a simple and very straightforward program like irfanview will give you the rough estimate under "image information". it also details the numbers of pixels vertically and horizontally, so just multiply if you need the precise number.
Many thanks for your answers, I really appreciate them. What I wanted to know is how to count just some selected pixels on the image, not the whole image. I'll take into account all your comments. Thanks
