I am searching a method to differentiate Pseudomonas spp from environmental samples. I can use CFC agar to isolate all the Pseudomonas spp but is there a specific media to isolate fluorescent pigment producing ones?
1st of all you have to isolate Pseudomonas sp. using selective media for them. Pseudomonas selective agar medium is suitable for it. Then you can reculture them in Kings medium B. Grown with isolates should be exposed to an ultra violet lamp source emitting UV light at a wavelength of 210 nm. Appearance of any florescence can be observed. I isolated 2 species of Pseudomas sp. using this mediums.
