Fine powder graphite or graphite with large or small mesh? Which mesh is better?
Graphite flakes with +100 mesh is better for preparing graphene oxide with high surface area
For the synthesis of Best quality of Graphene oxide (GO), graphite powder is best. The graphite flakes sometimes may not oxidized properly so you will get half oxidized product. Follow Improved Hummers method for the synthesis of good quality GO.
Thanks.
