We have tried the Asparagopsis taxiformis cultivation using tubular nets and after one week the seaweed fragments disapeared in the sea, we are sill looking now for a better methodology. Any info will be appreciated.
Being a red alga, the culture nets be kept at a lower position with ref. to seawater level. By trials, you'll have to find out the optimum depth, for each of the seasons. Instead of a single fragment, a few more be inserted within the twists of the culture net. Tie a few pieces of the culture material with polyethylene twines & fasten the other end to the culture net at some points, to see whether any marine fauna is not consuming it. If so, then at least a very small bit of the alga will still be seen tied with the twine.
The culture net is kept horizontally & not in a vertical position.
