Can anyone suggest a good buffering system for glucose oxidase activity (for glucose oxidation)? I use phosphate buffer but I am afraid that the phosphate group will effect enzyme activity. Does glucose oxidase work at higher PH (PH7.5, 8, or 9)? Can we oxidize glucose at higher PH using glucose oxidase?
I am currently working with GOx and I´ve found an interesting review that may answer some of your doubts.

"The optimum pH ranges for GOD from A. niger
and P. amagasakiense were shown to be 3.5–6.5 and 4.0–5.5, respectively.
It is evident that GOD from A. niger has a broader pH range
than that from P. amagasakiense GOD (Nakamura and Fujiki, 1968)."
In fact, I have also found several papers where authors use PBS 7.5 buffer and obtain good results, but I haven´t tested it myself yet.
Some use acetate buffer, pH around 5.
