For an antibiotic assay Medium#11, a growth response test is required to demonstrate it supports the growth of test organisms. The certificate of analysis from the manufacturer (e.g. Becton Dickinson) states a "good" recovery should be observed. Anybody knows what the "good" recovery is meant here and if a reference medium (e.g. TSA) is involved for comparison (e.g. to yield 50% - 200% of the colony count recovered in the reference medium, just like the USP growth promotion test)?
