Sustainable transportation has emerged as a major challenge for urban areas in developing as well as developed countries. It revolves around governance, choice of available and new technologies, and processes which are more friendly and less harmful to the environment in the long run. Effort is made to replace inefficient technologies / processes with more efficient integrated technologies. Mass transportation of human and goods, efficient traffic management, congestion reduction, enabling government policies and judicious deployment of technologies play a vital role in the sustainable transport system in developing as well as developed countries. The overall objective is to handover a better and livable world to the coming generations!
