Responding to your enquiry, I believe that there are still many topics in the issue of online social media that are worth researching scientifically. For example, I propose a multi-faceted analysis of the determinants of the development of disinformation occurring in these media. Well, based on my research and observations, I conclude that the scale of disinformation in social media has been increasing in recent years. On the one hand, certain algorithms built into these media are responsible for this scale and play the role of tools for the implementation of a specific information policy and thus shaping the general social awareness of certain worldview topics. On the other hand, there is a growing scale of the use by Internet users, users of social media, including Internet trolls and cybercriminals of certain IT applications equipped with generative artificial intelligence technology, including intelligent chatbots, Internet AI agents, virtual AI robots, etc., through which factoids, deepfeakey and other instruments of Internet disinformation are created, which are then consciously or unconsciously reproduced by many Internet users, users of these media, through interactions such as clicks to like, comment, pass on, etc., and which are then used to create a new information policy. However, the use of generative artificial intelligence technologies, including intelligent chatbots, online AI agents, virtual AI robots, etc. in social media does not just generate risks alone. There are also development opportunities associated with it, which is related, for example, to the use of the aforementioned AI chatbots etc. to create spots, banners, videos, graphics, photos, posters, etc. used in marketing and promotion, in marketing communications, in advertising campaigns to promote specific products and services, which is what the technology companies running online social media portals and sites mainly earn from.
My research shows that artificial intelligence technology has been rapidly developing and finding new applications in recent years, with new opportunities but also threats. The main determinants, including potential opportunities and threats to the development of artificial intelligence technology are described in my article below:
OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLICATIONS AND THE NEED FOR NORMATIVE REGULATION OF THIS DEVELOPMENT

I would like to invite you to scientific cooperation,
Connectivity and Communication: Social media has radically transformed how people communicate. It's now easier to stay in touch with family, friends, and colleagues, regardless of geographical distance. In real-time, people can share updates, send messages, and even have face-to-face video chats. This has also helped create global communities around shared interests and causes.
Socialization and Relationships: Social media has changed the dynamics of personal relationships. While it has helped people stay connected with others they may not otherwise interact with, it can also sometimes lead to more superficial interactions, or feelings of loneliness and isolation due to the comparison culture that platforms often foster.
Influence on Identity and Self-Image: Platforms like Instagram and TikTok can greatly influence how people see themselves. The pressure to present an idealized version of life through carefully curated posts can impact self-esteem, especially among younger people. On the other hand, social media has also given people a platform to express their authentic selves, leading to positive movements around body positivity, mental health awareness, and more.
Information and Learning: Social media is a powerful tool for education and information dissemination. People can access news, tutorials, and educational content in ways that were not possible before. However, it also poses risks, such as misinformation or echo chambers, where people only engage with content that supports their views.
Career and Opportunities: Social media has transformed the job market and career development. Platforms like LinkedIn are essential for professional networking, while others like Twitter or Instagram provide an avenue for individuals to showcase their work or expertise. Creators, influencers, and entrepreneurs can also leverage social media to build personal brands and reach a global audience.
Marketing and Business: Social media has revolutionized how businesses market their products and services. Brands use social media for advertising, influencer partnerships, and customer engagement. It has given rise to new forms of marketing, such as influencer marketing, where individuals with large followings promote products to their audience.
Political and Social Movements: Social media has played a major role in activism. Movements like #BlackLivesMatter, #MeToo, and climate change activism have gained widespread traction through social media platforms, providing a voice to marginalized groups and driving social change. The ability to organize protests, share stories, and mobilize support has fundamentally changed how people can advocate for causes.
Entertainment and Creativity: Social media platforms have become hubs for entertainment, offering a space for people to share creative work. TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram have launched new careers in music, comedy, fashion, and other creative industries. These platforms have also reshaped how content is consumed, moving away from traditional media like TV and radio.
