In Brazil, Normative Instruction No. 31, of June 29, 2018 of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply recommends a gradual decrease over the years of the maximum number of somatic cells of bovine milk. Currently, in Brazil, a maximum of 500,000 somatic cells per mL is accepted. Since the climate conditions (tropical humid) and animal husbandry in both countries are similar, I believe there should be similarity to the acceptable level of somatic cell counts in milk. Page 433 of the attached article has more general information about the limits for somatic cells in milk, in different places of the world.
