Musics consists of sounds as our speech. The difference is that speech has meaning but very many of us (if not everybody) do not understand what particular symphony, concert, sonata means!! So I ask you dear scientists what is musics?
Do you tell particularly about modern piano which is tuned according to 12 tone equal temperament scale? A such piano was used by Beethoven, Schumann, Shopin, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, et al. You do not like these composers?
Music is the play of voice sound & it generates from the thought conveying the silent sound of inside generating from the mind ,brain & thought which comes out with a sensitive feeling both for the creator & also for the listening .
In this regards sometime back i have expressed my views in the nature gift of human beings of their sound which i submit herewith for your perusal .
Back to the question. Music is definitely language dependent. We all can hear that music 'sound' differently for composers coming from different, mostly European countries. But take into accound Assian music. Especially, Chinese music is so different and the reason is that they are using tonal language. I am not expert but there must be a completely different music of those 'stone-age' tribes living in distant corners of our planet like Amazonia, aboriginals, Nepal, etc.
Beethoven music is tragedic one due to his deafness. I understand this. Maybe it is a language? The 5th symphony, the 8th and Appassionata sonatas?
Shostakovich`s Leningrad symphony (number 7) allegretto is a picture of fashists marching on russian earth, killing russian nation, culture, etc. Is it language?
Shopin`s nocturne 2 is it a beauty itself? Is it language?
Music is the medium of global communication that crosses barriers of language, race, socio-economic or educational level, all people who listen to certain melody, notes, songs, sonatas, operas, madrigals or other type of composition and musical expression. Generally they have a speech and a script that tell a story or express a meaningful experience both the author and the audience.
physical stimulus able to get through audible vibrations (frequency, intensity, hue, tint, color and harmony) ear; and sometimes, through tactile sensation and perception of these vibrations, or through the power of synesthesia throughout the body lucky to be enjoying the experience.
Experience that has the power to bring the individual to a new level of spiritual peace, in addition to magnify its sensitivity and ability to be creative potential, either in the same field of music, or in another area of scientific or humanistic knowledge.
All words you wrote are very general and they do not answer on my question. As a physicist I need a mathematical dependence, some law or hypothesis. Thanks to
Mr. Joachim Pimiskern. I will go through his extensive list of articles.
But I think musics is emotions of a composer. But we frequently just do not LISTEN these emotions by all our heart!!! As we are so busy or so angry or we want to do not to see this mad world around us:):)... Or because the music emotional language is almost "strange" to many of us. We should listen it very hard!
When I listen Allegretto from 7th symphony of Beethoven, lachrymose of Mozart`s requiem sometimes I want to cry..
I insist that music is the universal language whose physical basis in sound with some harmony, extent and intensity of the vibrations, reaching the transformed sound nerve impulse electrochemical brain, especially in the temporal area stimulus is processed, He is perceived and becomes aware involving both the language area of the left brain, as with the intuitive and creative part of the homologous area in the right hemisphere of the brain.
There is no mathematical formula nor scientific assumption or hypothesis leading to the creation of original knowledge that is the base or background to create a symphony, a sonata or a concert. Nor is there a mathematical formula.
If anything, the sensitivity and creativity in combining sounds of different instruments, an inventor or musical creator, can reach your compositions based and studying scores, logic in organizing musical notes, recreating the same or classics to give an original and personal touch, but as such there is no mathematical formula to arrive at such a result.
Everything is creating a brilliant mind and probably a level of transparency in every way, that individual through synesthesia is able to feel colors, see color in melodies and feel on the skin chords and one or a combination of many musical notes. In addition to general musical knowledge, expertise and experience in the world of music, knowledge of the life and work of composers and musicians of international fame and prestige at one time.
All this combined and the method Retroduction, the musician is capable of creating original music and interpret it, even instrumentally, as well as having the ability to create Music Theory.
Yes, music is indeed related to speech. Recent musicological und neurobiological research verifies amongst others Carl Stumpf’s theories on the origin of Music and the relation to speech. Especially, imaging methods illuminate the neural processing of speech and music. Firstly, it is established that Neural networks interact spatially closely during the processing of music and speech, and secondly, it is shown that numerous structures are also convenient for the processing of the acoustical information of both modalities. Music and speech have a common root. Music is capable to submit Information, using very similar structures like speech, such as semantics and syntax. Therefore, Music is like speech an acoustics mediated, Information transmitting medium, less to convey abstract Information, more to submit emotional content.
