Dear Anoop Kumar, thank you for attached files. These are really good guides. Unfortunately, this is not quite applicable for highly saline waters.
What could be EC of such waters.please update so that one may know where in site specific conditions, above said suggestions by Srivastava are not working.

I agree with you Dr Kulvir Singh. EC would be better placed than pH..
We use to measure soil pH of salt affected soils having salinity to 80 dS/m using the same conventionally used pH meters...
EC should be higher than 60 dS/m what is eqivalent to 40 PSU in salinity units (or 40 g/kg).
To see the problem you have to read about Debye–Hückel theory, Bates–Guggenheim convention and about Pitzer model.
In addition, as I mentioned, standard buffers have another value at high salinity than in standard solution.
