In my perspective, a PhD should be self-transformative and must possess an intention more than getting a degree. One should intentionally and incessantly expose himself/herself to the academic arena for a long time to acquire that transformation. Read a lot of quality literature related to the topic, have useful conversations with scholarly people as many as possible, watch videos (Interviews, Documentaries, Talks, and Movies) which would directly help us to improve in our area of study. Learning new skills and remaining up-to-date in the area of interest may help us to reach the lead role. Hear scholarly podcasts when travelling or attending daily chores. Eliminating stuff which is not directly related to our topic will allow us to stay focused and save a lot of time. Dedicate a few hours every day to reflect on newly acquired knowledge and transform it into real wisdom.

The full form of Ph.D. is "Doctorate of Philosophy". Therefore, we can expect from this degree holder that she/ he will be able to understand the philosophy behind her/ his discipline. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is considered as the highest degree one can get from the university. PHD hoder is expected to focus and exert her/his efforts to be good learner, effecient researcher, and active in community service.
A PhD should be thought as the researcher for excellency.
The grade represents the best-trained individual to perform a research project.
A PhD should be the leader of the lab and of the research group.
Teaching and training should also be a crucial role of a PhD.
Omkar S. Kushwaha I think very few. The major problem I've experienced is that the Universities characterised the PhD programmes in such a way that, it's just another stepping stone towards a secured career like teaching. But, I've to say this too, I've seen research supervisors who mould their students by guiding through the right path and making them be better scholars, persons, and better human beings.
In my opinion, to a doctor of philosophy correspond the generation of the knowledge based in experimental-evidence but also the study and undestanding of the logic process used to build the true. PhD needs to analize the logic process behind the construction of knowledge, the links and the temporal validation of the true.
