Professional learning communities are considered important for teachers' professional learning in schools. I am curious to know about publications which show what are important prerequisites for collaborative learning in teacher groups. Also I am interested in publications on the role of the facilitator.
The idea is to construct concept,theory or solve problem socially with interaction on doing it together.
Its a method to stimulate higher order thinking and learning to construct. Facilitator is only giving prequisite,main idea and rubric of assesment on how does it work.
Often this type of method good in refining and requestioning a solve problem or theory.

Collaborative learning is based on the view that knowledge can be gained by interacting socially with people. Two heads are better than one.
Collaborative activities are most often based on four principles:
• The learner or student is the primary focus of instruction.
• Interaction and "doing" are of primary importance
• Working in groups is an important mode of learning.
• Structured approaches to developing solutions to real-world problems should be incorporated into learning.
