Energy accounting in an ecosystem is done different way and emergy analysis proposed by H T Odem is one such method. How to calculate or analyse the energy flow of overall agro ecosystem mainly involving trees components. Any study , references please share.

Emergy in agroecosystems shows the amount of energy of the same quality, often solar quality, used up to generate biomass and maintain the system (donor-side value).
Emergy in agroecosystems is a very prolific topic in emergy literature. I suggest you the works of the following authors and groups: Torbjörn Rydberg and colleagues in Sweden, Enrique Ortega, Feni Agostinho and colleagues in Brazil (http://www.unicamp.br/fea/ortega/), and Sergio Ulgiati and colleagues in Italy.
Also, in the 1996 book of H.T. Odum, some ideas about emergy, forestry and agriculture can be found.
Some examples of emergy assessments in the case of areas in which crops are mixed with forest patches can be found in the literature of these groups.
