Vaginal abscess in pregnant women caused by Staphylococcus aureus and Trichomonas vaginalis is one of the most important disease, this infection is still medically uncontrolled because of poor health awareness due to the absence of personal hygiene in some women.

Both microbes are extracellular, induce a type 3 immune response characterised by IL17, CXCL-8, IL-1b, with neutrophil recruitment to the genital mucosa. magnitude of response stronger in the bacteria S. aureus compared to the flagellated protozoa (T. vaginalis) which is able to dampen the immune response in many ways including antioxidants which suppress ROS, immunomodulatory cytokines (IL-10), and induction of apoptosis in several immune cells.
