A simple answer for a simple question:
A research paper is a paper presenting the results of a research undertaking. A research article is a research paper published in a research journal. And a conference paper is a research paper presented in a research conference.

Agreed with the definitions shared by Romer. Think research paper is a more generic term that can refer to research article & conference paper. Research article takes longer cycle / time to write, reviewed & published whereby the research had been conducted for a while. Conference papers / conference proceedings normally contain the latest data collected & research that had been performed. If you want to know the latest research outcomes perhaps you can read from the conference paper or attend the conference session presented by the researcher. What is the difference between Research Article and Research Paper?
- There is no difference as such between a research article and a research paper and both involve original research with findings.

research paper &research article can mean the same thing in a general term, but more specifically u can say that a research paper can mean any kind of research not being published in a journal, it can be presented in a class or workshop....but a research article is published in journals...
conference papers are those being presented in national or international conferences and can be published in conference proceedings....
