What is difference between paper and article for publication?
Based on dictionary, a paper is an article in the academia
However, sometimes, article is a paper published in journal or newspaper.
can we say: paper is OK for any academic work, while article is special, therefore, we should use paper for all.

Dear Colleague,
I think the meaning of these two terms vary depending on context.
Usually a paper reports an experimental research work when an article should be a review or commentary (for example a review).
Nevertheless sometimes the distinction implicates if the work is formally published (article) or not already published (paper).
