The concept of education most often corresponds to the totality of knowledge received by a person. The more their volume - the higher the level of education. Value also has a variety and quality of knowledge, and yet, very importantly, the skills associated with their application.

Education can be obtained by man:

through visits to specialized institutions - schools, secondary professional institutions, universities;

through training on online courses (both on records and in the mode of webinars);

through self-study - by books, the same online sources;

in the order of individual communications with the bearers of knowledge and skills - mentors, trainers, consultants.

Education means the actual existence of a significant amount of knowledge in a person, as well as skills that allow him to apply this knowledge in practice. Education is the concrete result of a person's education. In some cases, let it be very modest - but sufficiently tangible and allowing the knowledge carrier to subsequently successfully increase their volume.

I think the meanings are poles apart. Education is always in a broader perspective. Education is preparation for life. While indoctrination is instructing some doctrines. Needless to say, doctrines are always focused some times it is narrowly focused if they are religion oriented. 

Education leads you to think with your own head. Indoctrination leads you to think with someone else's head.

American scientists generally are emigrants from Europe , but post graduate student are mostly Chinese and Japanese .

- Nevertheless, you can't deny achievements of the American science?

- I am not doing a review of the condition of American science or the American way of living. Am talking about the teaching methods that are deployed in primary schools of the US, the situation there is disgraceful.

I have discussed this issue with the outstanding mathematicians of America; most of them are my friends. I am proud of their achievements, however, I asked them this question; How did you manage to have these achievements in science with such poor primary schools? One of them answered:” I earlier learned “double thinking “ that is, I had one understanding of a subject itself, and another - for the administration at school. My teacher demanded that I answered him that 2 multiply by 3 equals 8 , but I knew that it is 6…… I knew well that it is necessary to answer at lessons and that’s how it is actually... I worked a lot in libraries, it’s good that were excellent books”.

 Conceptually, education has a positive connotation and refers to the process of imparting or acquiring  knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and evaluation, and  preparing oneself or other individuals  intellectually for  a better life. Differently stated, education is the act of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits which are necessary for a decent, mature life.. By contrast, indoctrination has a negative connotation and is the process of  indoctrinating, or inculcating an ideology or  a set of specific beliefs and values  to a person or group. Here, the purpose is to make the individual or the group accept what is said and taught uncritically.

Indoctrination is the process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically. Indoctrination often refers to religious ideas, when you're talking about a religious environment that doesn't let you question or criticize those beliefs. The Latin word for "teach," doctrina is the root of indoctrinate, and originally that's just what it meant.

The difference between education and indoctrinationis vast, but it is often subtle when the mind thinks of these two subjects. Education involves the seeking of facts, and learning about what is the truth, and what is not. ... Both Education and Indoctrination are related to thinking.  Education is a learning process when someone teaches us how to think about a scientific truth while Indoctrination is a learning process of when someone teaches us what to think about truth based on belief and practice.

Education leads to enlightenment of mind and thought, whereas indoctrination leads to submission to a doctrine.
