Many thanks to Dr. Arvind Singh the difference in the symptoms in oak is related to it stiff leaf texture and the trails of miner are less conspicuous and tend to give a more pocket appearance that the trails that are more visible in more succulent plant leaves. Miners can be of various insect groups and should not be considered monolithic. To get the correct species and affinity can be helpful for effective literature review.
