I have a naive question about RNASeq data. When reading an articles about a particular gene, I came across TPM values in pathological tissues. I don't understand if the values of for example 20TPM qualify the gene as highly expressed? Is this amount of RNA going to produce abundance of protein, or is it really low in general scale of gene expression? I have little to no knowledge in these kind of data, so I'd be grateful for some clarification.
