What is an appropriate criteria for comparison between parametric and semi-parametric models?

I want to know if there is any appropriate criteria to compare parametric and semi-parametric models?

Parametric and nonparametric(or semiparametric) models are not comparable by a criteria such as AIC. Vuong test is a useful criteria for model selection when two models are nested, non-nested or overlapping.
