Dear everyone

In the interpretation of CV when an organic compound or MOF is used as the active material of the secondary battery, it is often seen in the paper that the redox peaks after the 1st cycle and the 2nd cycle are different, "activation (of the active material)". But what exactly is this? I interpreted it as "the crystallinity of the organic compound has collapsed, or the guest (such as the molecule of the electrolyte) has escaped from the pores of the MOF, making it easier for ions to insert." Is this interpretation correct?
