Hi all,

My understanding about the grid used in ToF is it is useful to reduce the broadening due to the varied kinetic energy of the ion. But also it may reduce transmission (90% or less).

Is the ion transmission reduced because the ions bump into the wire of the grid that is high in potential (charged)? If so, what would be the relationship between ion transmission and grid size?

Thanks.
