(1)Try analyzing the chemistry of the soil i.e., composition of the metals, pH etc.
(2) Fortify the soil sample with a carbon source (e.e., glucose) and incubate for a specific period to monitor any growth and decay of contaminants.
(3) If there is any decay of the contaminants optimize the condition of the decay.
(4)If there is no growth/no decay try isolating the predominant strains from the native soil sample and individually try them for detoxification of the predominant metal(s) identified in step 1.
